Dosbarth Sycamore

Croeso i Dosbarth Sycamore,

I am so happy to be starting the children’s learning journey for their time in Year 5 and for those who are in Year 6, for their final year.

Our main focus is always the children’s Health and Wellbeing, learning through encouragement, challenge and fun.  This terms topic is,  'Journeys', where we will be delving into the escapades of explorers such as Shackleton. All of our teaching will be based on the 4 purposes and the new curriculum.

We are fortunate enough to have Mrs Scarsbrook and Debb, to support children in our class each morning.

We have P.E. every Monday and Thursday. The children can come to school in their P.E. kit on these days. The P.E. kit is a plain white T-shirt, blue/black joggers or leggings or shorts, and trainers.  Please ensure long hair is tied back and stud earrings only.

As it stands, our homework is simply capturing images that represent our 5 Ways to Well-being.

5 Ways to Wellbeing – includes Be Active, Connect, Give, Keep Learning and Take Notice.

Reading is so essential in all their lifelong learning and we would like to encourage the children to read daily. Where possible, to an adult to help support their understanding and coherence.  We should be reading at least 5 times a week!

We will post some of the children’s work, announcements and reminders on Seesaw.  Please contact us on this site or phone the school with any concerns.

I look forward to creating lots of memories throughout the year.
